Staging Environment

For the first synchronization, as well as for any major changes in configuration or testing, it is recommended to use a Staging environment.

In Shopify, you can create a new password-protected store, or if you are new to Shopify, your store will not be publicly accessible until a plan has been purchased.

Similarly, it is advisable to set up a Shopify staging connector with a configuration that closely mirrors your production connector. This should be used to test any configuration changes before applying them in the live environment, helping to minimize risks.

To get started, in the Parameters tab, configure Only visible in Export items with status and set Disable deletions to Yes.

In addition, it is recommended to filter by a small group of items to speed up testing. The items to be synchronized can be tagged in the PIM in order to select them in the corresponding table of the connector.

This approach lets you validate all errors before synchronizing the rest of the items. Once the synchronization has been successfully completed, the store will have these items available. Then, the results can be verified, adjustments can be made, and the group of products can be expanded.
