Categories

In Shopify are called Collections and have two types; manual and automated. The channel can create only manual collections. For using, automated ones, categories cannot be sent by the Sales Layer channel, they use a selection condition to automatically include matching products. 

Variants

They are not mandatory, the channel only sends them when adding at least one attribute in the connector’s variant’s configuration. Due to, Shopify limitations, a product can have up to 100 variants with a maximum of 3 attributes.

SKU

The channel uses this concept as a key field to find products and variants in Shopify, therefore, there shouldn’t be repeated SKUs.

Metafields

Allows to add and store additional information about a collection or a product, apart from the standard fields offered by default in Shopify. You can learn more from the following link before trying to synchronize them from Sales Layer: Metafields. You can create some metafields with a specific type in your P catalog, and map them, but not all of them are supported by the channel.

Related products and variants

The channel allows sending related products, but it is recommended that the amount of these values be minimized to avoid performance issues when synchronizing.
