Regarding the user experience
Starting in June, we are implementing changes to the PIM user experience and to some of the platform’s terminology. Although these adjustments will not affect the usual use of the system, we want to explain in detail how they will benefit you:
Now, everything will be simpler and more organized thanks to two key improvements:
Item selection option
With the new selection button that you’ll find in each product, variant, category, or custom entity table, you will be able to decide what type of selection to make:
- Select all items in your account
- Select only the items on the page you are currently on
- Deselect all
New organization in the Actions command
We have reorganized the options in the main Actions command in a more intuitive way, so you can quickly find the action you need to apply to the selected items.
Naming Changes in Sales Layer
Based on feedback from our clients, we’ve updated the names of certain terms within the platform as of June. While these changes won’t affect how you use the system, it’s important to be aware of them, as you’ll see new names across the interface.
From Families to Attribute Sets
What you previously knew as Attribute Sets will now be called Attribute Sets.
This change has a clear goal: to avoid common confusion between Attribute Sets and Categories, two concepts often seen as synonymous, but with very different functions.
Each Attribute Set represents a form with a specific field structure, depending on the product type. For example, the fields required for a book are different from those needed for a backpack. The functionality remains exactly the same, only the name has changed to better reflect its purpose.
From Sales Material Tables to Custom Entities
Another important change is the renaming of Sales Material Tables, which are now called Custom Entities.
These entities are still used to store reusable information (such as accessories, manuals, or any additional data related to your products), but the new name better reflects their flexibility and broader use within the system.
How does this change affect you?
Everything will continue to work just as before: only the names of some elements have been changed, their behavior remains the same. This means you won’t need to make any changes to the platform or your connector configurations.
We’re currently updating our documentation so that all articles reflect these new naming conventions as soon as possible. In the meantime, you may come across references to the old names in some texts or screens, but we’re working to keep everything aligned.
