This update introduces new capabilities that allow the use of advanced formulas in Business Rules, making them more powerful and flexible.
Advanced formulas in Business Rules
Business Rules can now use a more advanced formula editor, allowing users to create richer rule logic when configuring actions.
When configuring a Business Rule action, users can select a destination field where the result will be calculated. They can also choose whether the rule should only fill empty fields or overwrite existing content.
The formula editor supports different types of operations, including arithmetic calculations, comparisons, conditional logic, text transformations, date functions, localization functions and operations with related entities.
This makes Business Rules more flexible and allows teams to automate more complex data transformation processes directly inside Sales Layer.
The formula editor can also reference fields from related entities, such as Products, Variants and Categories, making it possible to build rules that use information from connected data structures.
Some restrictions apply. Business Rules currently support Number, Short Text, Long Text and Date fields. When using multilanguage fields, the default language is used unless the Localize function is applied.
