- Categories: Amazon handles categories as "Product Types". To separate or group products relevant to the channel (same as categories do) you can use other characteristics such as tags or Attribute Sets. Once you have selected a product type that fits your product, the connector automatically lists the fields available to be filled and allows field mapping.
- Products and Variants: Amazon are called "Listing Items", and both concepts fuse together in this platform. That means that all Sales Layer fields merge before being sent to Amazon.

- SKU: Stock Keeping Unit.
- Product type: A product type represents a type of product that is sold on Amazon. An Amazon product type describes the attributes and data requirements for concrete items in the Amazon catalog using a JSON Scheme.
- Listing: A listing represents an item. Unlike Sales Layer, Amazon does not differentiate between products and variants. On Amazon, items are called "listings".
- Marketplace: Amazon offers the Amazon Selling Partner API in different countries. Each of these countries is an Amazon marketplace and has a specific Marketplace ID.
