- The expected setup time can vary from one day to three months. This depends on several factors, such as data preparation, e-commerce customization, including extra plugins, server specifications, and the implementer's experience.
- You must create a personal Magento account before configuring the connector. We recommend making a copy or safe export of all your products beforehand to preserve the original data.
- Once the connector is implemented, all product information must be managed from Sales Layer. Try not to manage it from Magento, except for the Stock field.
- Sales Layer as SaaS, Software as a Service, does not offer professional services such as consulting and integrations. Additional services can be provided through separate agreements with one of our specialized partners.
Recommended setup
- Have a test or staging environment with the same configuration and external plugins as the production environment. Use it to test before you connect.
- Run initial imports with a small sample of data to enable faster testing.
- Make sure the implementer also has access to the production server. The implementer should know how to configure the plugin and the server where it is hosted.
Other aspects to consider
- Once the connection between Sales Layer and the e-commerce channel is established, all changes made in Sales Layer will be sent to the e-commerce channel.
- The plugin connects to e-commerce in a simple and generic way, taking into account the most vulnerable points and different personal cases depending on each client.
- The plugin is open source, so it can be customized to adapt to the personalizations of each environment. Sales Layer is not responsible for these customizations or their maintenance.
- The generic connection of the plugin uses the default existing tables in Magento. If these tables are customized, for example by deleting a column or a table manually or through an external plugin, the connection with Sales Layer may not work correctly.
- Due to Magento characteristics, if you use multilanguage with store views, a channel will be required for each view.
!
Warning: Our API is configured to send all changes made in Sales Layer, even if they are not included within the connector filters. For example, if you configure a connector to export only visible items and modify invisible or draft products, the API will return these changes and send them as “Deleted”, which disables the items in the e-commerce.
