What’s new in version 1.12.1
Version 1.12.1 of the Shopify connector is now available. It includes important improvements for new connections, catalogs with many variants, and clearer synchronization results.
This version is especially recommended for customers who need to work with Shopify’s new authentication system, synchronize products with a high number of variants, or review cleaner and more accurate synchronization logs.
Main updates in version 1.12.1:
- Supports both OAuth and Legacy authentication.
- New Shopify store connections must be made using OAuth.
- Keeps compatibility with the Legacy method for existing configurations that are already in production.
- Expands support to up to 2048 variants per product.
- Improves synchronization logs to show more accurate results.
- Updates the connector’s technical compatibility with the latest Shopify API versions.
- Extended compatibility until January 2027
All the changes described in this article are available from Shopify connector version 1.12.1 onward.
OAuth and Legacy authentication
Version 1.12.1 supports two types of authentication:
- OAuth: recommended for new Shopify stores and new connections.
- Legacy: available for existing configurations that are already in production.
New Shopify store connections must be made using OAuth, so this connector version is required to complete the authentication correctly.
If your store is already connected using the Legacy method, you do not need to change it immediately. The new version keeps compatibility with this system to make the transition easier.
Support for up to 2048 variants per product
The Shopify 1.12.1 connector expands variant support to 2048 variants per product, aligning with Shopify’s current limits.
This makes it easier to work with complex catalogs, especially when the same product has many combinations of size, color, style, or other options.
Clearer synchronization logs
Synchronization logs have been improved to show more accurate results. The log now focuses on the items that have actually been synchronized, reducing unnecessary information and making each process easier to review.
This helps identify more quickly which products, variants, or collections have been processed correctly and which items may require review.
Compatibility with Shopify’s current API
Version 1.12.1 also updates the connector’s technical compatibility with the latest Shopify API versions, helping keep the integration aligned with Shopify platform changes.
Note: It is possible to notice changes in how some field names are displayed. Fields now appear with clearer and more descriptive names to make them easier to identify during configuration. More information about this change can be found in the version 1.11 article.
