Enabling “Add parents to variants”

Modified on Mon, 25 May at 4:42 PM

This option creates a separate Parent row for products that have associated variants.

Why marketplaces require this

Some marketplaces demand the Parent row because:

  • It defines the Parent SKU.
  • It groups all variants under a single product.
  • It ensures correct product listing hierarchy.

What the connector generates after enabling this

For a product with 3 variants, the output becomes:

  • Parent row: SKU SHIRT-001, Type Parent, no variant attributes.
  • Child rows: SHIRT-001-BL-M (Child), SHIRT-001-BL-L (Child), and SHIRT-001-RD-M (Child).

Important notes

  • Parent rows contain no values for variant-only fields, such as size or color.
  • Parent rows are not repeated for standalone products.
  • Formulas like IS_FUSION_VARIANT_PARENT() work only when this parameter is active.
