Enabling “Add parents to variants”

This option creates a separate Parent row for products that have associated variants.

Why marketplaces require this

Some marketplaces demand the Parent row because:

  • It defines the Parent SKU
  • It groups all variants under a single product
  • It ensures correct product listing hierarchy

What the connector generates after enabling this

For a product with 3 variants, the output becomes:

  • Parent row:
    • SKU: SHIRT-001
    • Type: Parent
    • No variant attributes
  • Child rows:
    • SHIRT-001-BL-M (Child)
    • SHIRT-001-BL-L (Child)
    • SHIRT-001-RD-M (Child)

Important notes

  • Parent rows contain no values for variant-only fields (size, color, etc.)
  • Parent rows are not repeated for standalone products
  • Formulas like IS_FUSION_VARIANT_PARENT() work only when this parameter is active
