Enabling “Add parents to variants”
This option creates a separate Parent row for products that have associated variants.
Why marketplaces require this
Some marketplaces demand the Parent row because:
- It defines the Parent SKU
- It groups all variants under a single product
- It ensures correct product listing hierarchy
What the connector generates after enabling this
For a product with 3 variants, the output becomes:
- Parent row:
- SKU: SHIRT-001
- Type: Parent
- No variant attributes
- Child rows:
- SHIRT-001-BL-M (Child)
- SHIRT-001-BL-L (Child)
- SHIRT-001-RD-M (Child)
Important notes
- Parent rows contain no values for variant-only fields (size, color, etc.)
- Parent rows are not repeated for standalone products
- Formulas like IS_FUSION_VARIANT_PARENT() work only when this parameter is active
