Recommendations
Duration of the Configuration
The time needed to set up can vary from one day to three weeks, depending on factors such as the BigCommerce plan, store setup and customization, and the implementer's experience.
Data backup
Supposing your BigCommerce store is already up and running before you set up the channel in that case, it's recommended to make a copy or export all your products securely to preserve the original data.
Management of Product Information
Once the connector is fully implemented it is recommended to manage all product information from Sales Layer. Actions performed directly in BigCommerce could be overwritten by the connector, which can cause inconsistencies.
Additional Services
Sales Layer, as a SaaS, does not offer professional services such as consulting and integrations. These additional services can be obtained through separate agreements with our specialized partners.
Test environment
A staging environment is highly recommended. In addition, it is convenient for the implementer to have access to the production server for testing and configuration.
Initial Imports
Initial imports with a small sample of data are suggested to facilitate and accelerate testing.
Data Consistency
To avoid conflicts and maintain consistency in product information, it is recommended to manage all information in Sales Layer, since changes in BigCommerce are not reflected in the Sales Layer catalog, except in the case of stock, which must be updated directly in e-commerce.
Other aspects to be considered
- Once the connection between Sales Layer and the e-commerce channel is established, all changes made in Sales Layer will be sent to the e-commerce channel.
- The plugin connects with e-commerce simply and generically, considering vulnerabilities and various specific cases according to customers.
- It is crucial to manage product information from the Sales Layer to avoid conflicts that may arise from dual management in Sales Layer and e-commerce.
Important note:
Our API is designed to send all changes made in Sales Layer, even those that are not within the connector filters. For example, if you set up a connector to export only visible items and modify invisible or draft products, the API will send these items to be disabled in e-commerce.
